A 1949 Ford body welded onto an ‘89 4-cyl Camry frame. For the love of god why?

Oh, and he wants $2,350.00 for destroying a shoebox Ford.

I think his idea of what “final finishing” is, varies slightly from mine. *Slightly*

You know when you see a car of a type you really love and want, but that is often hard to find or is more than you can afford, and it’s been ruined by somebody? Yeah. This is one of those times.

Exactly and it looks to be in solid shape! Do people realize that you cant just casually change the proportions of a car and expect it to look the same?

I don’t come across projects like this often but enough to make me wonder why pick such a weird FWD platform. The other project that comes to mind was the 1959 Mercedes 190 body over a Toyota Yaris chassis.

My only guesses are either “I’ve got this chassis and that body, lets combine them” or “I want a classic car, but without all the hassle of old tech. Hey if I put it on this modern FWD chassis It’ll even get good gas mileage!”

It is the same logic that begat the easyrods & rodster kits.
